This letter arrives to you from an unspeakable time in the collective, though it’s true that many things have been unspeakable in the last two years.
In Toboso, Negros Occidental, a national university student was killed by the Philippine army. The army also murdered two Filipino-American activists, a journalist, a local resident, two land rights activists, and two minors.
Alyssa Alano and RJ Ledesma were friends of friends. They deserve justice. They could’ve been any one of us.
Whenever I find my words failing, I turn to poetry.
